Shipping Policy and Food Safety
Its important for all del Carmen customers to provide a physical delivery address. Someone will need to receive the product since they are perishable. This could be an office address. Delivery will be during the week.
You are responsible for inspecting all products you receive from us for any damage or other issues upon delivery. In addition, you are solely responsible for determining the freshness of the products you receive. You should always inspect your delivery to confirm that the meal ingredients arrive in a cool, refrigerated condition. We recommend that you use a thermometer to ensure that the temperature zone within the container in which any is located is 40° F or below. In the unlikely event that such temperature zone is above 40° F, or you have any other reason to believe that any product in your delivery is not suitable for consumption, contact us at [insert] and discard the item. To help ensure that you receive fresh, safe products, Del Carmen takes efforts to ensure that after its products leave its facility for shipment to you that they are in transit for no longer than 48 hours. In the event that del Carmen determines that your products have been in transit for longer than 48 hours, del Carmen will attempt to notify you and will promptly send you a replacement free of charge. If you determine that your order has been in transit for more than 48 hours, you may send an email to [ @delcarmenfoods.com] with your tracking number, and we will ship you a replacement free of charge. We ask that you dispose of and do not consume any products that either you or we believe have been in transit for more than 48 hours. Given the perishable nature of our products, we ask that you ensure that you are available to receive the product when it arrives and that you promptly refrigerate or freeze it, as appropriate. This may require advance planning on your part, taking into consideration the season of the year and the temperature in your region.
To maintain the quality and integrity of the products, we recommend that you immediately refrigerate or freeze all perishable products upon delivery and follow the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (“USDA”) instructions on refrigeration and food safety, which can be found here [insert following hyperlink: http://www.fsis.usda.gov/wps/portal/fsis/topics/food-safety-education/get-answers/food-safety-fact-sheets/safe-food-handling/refrigeration-and-food-safety/ct_index]. From the time of delivery, the condition and consumption of the products are solely at your risk, and you are solely responsible for the proper and safe handling, preparation, storage, cooking, use and consumption of the products following delivery. Del Carmen expressly disclaims all liability for any use of any product that has been allowed to thaw or that was not properly stored or prepared after its timely delivery to you.
